THE USEFULLNESS OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

 There is no doughty that  science and technology, has led  to the  development  to our great country and indeed  the whole world.  In other  to understand the contribution  science to national development, I will like to define science and technology.

What is science?  Science is the study  of knowledge which can be made  into the system  and usually  depends on seeing  and testing  facts  and stating general laws.  Technology is the political application  of scientific knowledge  or the invention to the solving of everyday problems  pr facilitating tedious human activities

The  product of science and technology has contributed  to the development of countries such as   America, Japan,  China  and to an extent our country. Through the application scientific knowledge  people have been  able to make  and produce  equipment  and machines  being  used  in industries  and even in our homes.

Also, science and technology  has help in easing  the stress  encountered  in the movement  of people  and goods  from one place to another, though the invention of automobiles, aircraft and so on.  People have been able to move  around the  country  and outside  the country  with ease because of availability of  modern means of transportation

Nevertheless,  science and technology has helped in the area of medicine . some natural herbs converted to drugs  with the  aids of modern equipment  and these drugs are used in our hospitals and homes  by the  people who are sick

Equally important is the fact that science and technology  has helped in making work easier  for people to do through the invention of computer machines  and so on. These machines have been taken over the activity of man  and have made work easier and faster. With the invention and availability of communication  media  such as telephone, television and radio. With telephone system for instance, one can have  contact with friends and relations  in far away places.

Moreover,  rural community are transformed to urban  settlement through science and technology.  This is made possible  through the availability of electricity,  pipe borne  water, good road , school, hospitals,  just to mention a few. In  this regard there has  been a population explosion  to this new urban  areas.

 Indeed some countries and some other African countries  are under developed  because  science and technology has not been  given it proper place in the scheme  of things. For us to develop and meet the challenges of the time, science and technology must have been given adequate attention
